Niche Affiliate Marketing Program What Is It?
One definition of the word "niche", according to TheFreeDictionary is: "A special area of
demand for a product or service". "Marketing", according to the same online dictionary is:
"The act or process of buying and selling in a market". Put the two words together, and
niche marketing means buying or selling a product or service in a special area of demand.
All that really means is that a product or service is being sold to the people who are most
interested in that particular product or service and not to the general public.
Affiliates sell products or services that are not their own, and make commissions on these
products. Many large businesses, both online and offline, offer "niche" affiliate marketing
programs. Some affiliates are very profitable and make a full time income from selling
these products.
A lot of big businesses use niche marketing. For example, a company that makes stereos and
stereo accessories might advertise specialty speakers to the home stereo user while at the
same time advertising machines that include special speakers to large businesses.
One thing that makes niche marketing so attractive to sellers and the affiliates who sell
products is they can make better use of their advertising budgets. The cost of advertising
to a specialized market is less than the cost of advertising to a broader market.
Niche marketing is designed to meet the unique needs of a targeted audience. Niche marketers
must customize their product to meet those unique needs. If, for example, a manufacturer has
designed a product to make poodle grooming easy enough that a layman can do it, those who
own poodles will be most interested in the product. Those who own ferrets/ferret-nooks--where-do-ferrets-live-and-how-they-live.php">ferrets/what-do-ferrets-eat.php">ferrets or cats couldnt
care less. If an auther has written an e-book that explains how to start and succeed in an
online business, those who are looking for that information are the niche market. Those who
are happy in their "day jobs" are not interested at all.
There are many "niches" that one can find products to advertise for. Among these are weight
loss, dog training, gardening, 'matchmaking' websites. The list goes on.
Niche marketing is a very effective and cost efficient way to advertise and sell specific
products or services to a specific audience.
