There's Value in Link Building for Businesses

With the search engines becoming more discerning every day in their efforts to ferret out purchased links vs. reciprocal links and valuable links vs. random links, the value of links for online businesses is still being questioned. The simple fact remains the same - there is no other tool that offers more ways to get your site noticed on the Internet than good links. That being said, link building is obviously still an incredibly valuable tool that isn't going to fade into the background any time soon.

Links increase ranking. Link building affects where you fall in search engine rankings. Yes, it depends on how good those links are and whether they are reciprocal links, one-way links and dozens of other variations on the theme, but the net result is the same. If others are linking to you, the search engines will sit up and take notice.

Links increase business credibility. If no one else in your industry is linked to you, potential customers will wonder why; conversely, if they keep seeing links to your site on other industry sites they will notice and assume that you must be "somebody." They may follow the link now or later, or they may simply file the information away for future reference, but the name and the credibility will stick.

See increased traffic. Link building leads to traffic, pure and simple, particularly if you have built links from relevant websites. Not all of this traffic will turn into business, but remember that increased traffic will also move you up in the rankings, and better rankings will turn into more business. Are you beginning to see how there's a circular but beneficial pattern to link building?

Of course, you do want to approach a link building campaign with a sound business plan. Some links will be a tremendous asset while others can actually damage your reputation and move you down in the search engine rankings. Be aware of what types of links you should be focusing on for the best value for you business.

Be selective. One of the most common mistakes made is to quickly buy up links in inexpensive, poorly designed directories that will list any and all websites. Search engines recognize these directories, and websites that are listed in these are often penalized. Look for directories that are difficult to get into and strive to meet their criteria; it will be worth it in the long run.

Be selective on your end as well. Take the directory for a test drive. Do all of the links go to active sites? Are the sites well maintained, current and informative? Or are there inactive sites and broken links? What about links to sites that are pornographic or in questionable taste? If the directory features links to websites you would be embarrassed to be associated with, don't pay to list with them.

Be specific, not general. Look for directories that are industry-specific. If you are in the banking industry, be sure to find directories that are specifically focused on banking and money markets. If you are an artist, there are directories for galleries, art studios and other artists that would be of interest.

Content rich sites are great. When linking to other websites, look for sites that have lots of content in the form of articles, how-to's and even surveys. Whenever a link to your site can be embedded within content rather than simply pasted in a "Links" page, it will improve the status of the link. Search engines love links that are integral to content. If you want a link to a great site, offer to provide them some content they could use on their site and include your link in it. Sites are always looking for fresh content.

As you can see, link building can add plenty to the success of your business, so be sure to put some time into constructive linking strategies for your website every week.

Veterinarian Hunting for A "Happy Pet" Vet

Choosing the right veterinarian should be a little more involved than simply picking up the phone book and calling one that is closest to your place of residence. You may find that after a few appointments you are uncomfortable with your choice for various reasons. You may not be happy with the advice given as it just seems wrong or his manners may be abrupt when it comes to controlling your pet. Few people even think of changing their veterinarian or even take the time to find the right one in the first place.

When you pick the right veterinarian, future health procedures for your pet will be more comfortable for everyone involved. Here are a few tips that may help you choose the best vet. Call your local veterinary medical Board to see if any complaints have been filed. Make sure your new vet actually likes dogs, as surprisingly enough some dont. Some are even allergic to dogs and thus, the quality of care your pet receives will be diminished. Find out if 24-hour emergency care is available and see if there is someone that might be with your pet nonstop all night, in case an accident requires your pet to stay overnight.

If you have a good insurance plan, ask if the veterinarian accepts the coverage that you carry. If you don't have coverage, see if they accept your credit card or if they have a payment plan available. Watch closely the vet technicians. Do they have a friendly polite way about them and are they courteous to you and your pet? Lastly, remember that one of the most important things when it comes to selecting the best veterinarian for your pet is to trust your instincts. If you feel uncomfortable in any way, keep looking. You and your pet will be glad you did!

Niche Affiliate Marketing Program What Is It?

One definition of the word "niche", according to TheFreeDictionary is: "A special area of

demand for a product or service". "Marketing", according to the same online dictionary is:

"The act or process of buying and selling in a market". Put the two words together, and

niche marketing means buying or selling a product or service in a special area of demand.

All that really means is that a product or service is being sold to the people who are most

interested in that particular product or service and not to the general public.

Affiliates sell products or services that are not their own, and make commissions on these

products. Many large businesses, both online and offline, offer "niche" affiliate marketing

programs. Some affiliates are very profitable and make a full time income from selling

these products.

A lot of big businesses use niche marketing. For example, a company that makes stereos and

stereo accessories might advertise specialty speakers to the home stereo user while at the

same time advertising machines that include special speakers to large businesses.

One thing that makes niche marketing so attractive to sellers and the affiliates who sell

products is they can make better use of their advertising budgets. The cost of advertising

to a specialized market is less than the cost of advertising to a broader market.

Niche marketing is designed to meet the unique needs of a targeted audience. Niche marketers

must customize their product to meet those unique needs. If, for example, a manufacturer has

designed a product to make poodle grooming easy enough that a layman can do it, those who

own poodles will be most interested in the product. Those who own ferrets/ferret-nooks--where-do-ferrets-live-and-how-they-live.php">ferrets/what-do-ferrets-eat.php">ferrets or cats couldnt

care less. If an auther has written an e-book that explains how to start and succeed in an

online business, those who are looking for that information are the niche market. Those who

are happy in their "day jobs" are not interested at all.

There are many "niches" that one can find products to advertise for. Among these are weight

loss, dog training, gardening, 'matchmaking' websites. The list goes on.

Niche marketing is a very effective and cost efficient way to advertise and sell specific

products or services to a specific audience.

Golden Retriever for Sale

Buying a golden retriever is task that requires a great deal of thought and caution. But the joy the puppy brings is worth all the effort. The first step is to gather all the information you can. A potential buyer should attend dog shows and meetings of dog clubs to know more and more about the breed. Golden retriever owners can provide valuable insights about the disposition of the breed.

The second step is to look for a reliable place to buy the puppy. One should never go for a pet shop or a backyard breeder. A serious hobby breeder is the best source for a well-bred puppy. A list of reputable breeders can be obtained from the Golden Retriever Club of America. After you have come to an informed decision about the right breeder, you might have to wait for some time before the litter of your choice is born. When the litter is born, you and the breeder can mutually decide on a puppy that is suitable for your home.

Once you have found the puppy you have to take care of a few things before you buy it. It is better to buy a puppy that is registered with the American Kennel Club (AKC). An AKC registration provides a certain degree of assurance about the pedigree of the puppy. It has to be made sure that the puppy has received proper veterinary care- it should be appropriately vaccinated and de-wormed. The puppy should be adequately socialized so that it can easily become a part of your family.

A puppy is ready to be brought home once it is seven to eight weeks old. At the time of buying one should make sure that the breeder provides written instructions for training and care of the puppy. One should make sure that adequate paperwork is done for the transaction. It is best if the breeder can provide a written warranty against development of hereditary disorders.

One has to pay a reasonable price for a healthy, well-bred puppy. One should never compromise the quality and health of a puppy for a lower cost.

Before you bring the puppy home it is very important to puppy-proof your home. Make sure that your house is safe for your puppy. Make sure that there is adequate fencing. Also, make sure you have a cozy little place where your little puppy can sleep.

Canine Heartworms - What All Dog Owners Need to Know

Heart worms, technically known as Dirofilaria immitis, are small parasites that often infect their host through a mosquito bite and then spread from one animal to another. All sorts of animals can get heartworms, including common pets like dogs, cats, and ferrets/ferret-nooks--where-do-ferrets-live-and-how-they-live.php">ferrets/ferret-nooks--where-do-ferrets-live-and-how-they-live.php">ferrets. Several wild animals, like coyotes, wolves, and even sea lions, are affected by heartworms and sometimes people can become infected by the parasites as well. It is important to protect your dog from canine heartworm infection.

The small parasite is placed into a host animals bloodstream through a single mosquito bite. After being bitten, the worm will grow inside the host for almost seven months before becoming an adult. Heartworms gained their name because once they mature, they infect the heart of the host animal, living there for years until they are either removed by extensive medical treatments or cause heart failure and kill the host.

Heart worms are quite common among dogs, especially in the United States. This sometimes fatal disease was discovered in 1856 and it was found that the parasites live primarily in the animals major blood vessels and, finally, within the heart. Canine heartworms, if left untreated, can cause serious problems in the hearts process and can block the flow of blood through the animals blood vessels. Weight loss, vision complications, respiratory problems, chronic coughing, heart failure, and, finally, death are also associated with heartworm infections.

Heart worms affect different dogs in various ways and in many dogs, symptoms of the infection are not apparent until the disease is almost impossible to cure. It is very important to catch a canine heartworm infection early on or, better yet, to protect your dog from becoming infected with a monthly precautionary treatment recommended by your veterinarian.

Your vet will first perform a simple blood test on your dog to see if any heartworm parasites have already taken residence. If the test shows positive results, your dog will have to go through a long, often painful, treatment to get rid of the heartworms. Canine heartworm treatment can sometimes include surgical procedures as well. If the test returns negative results and your dog is free of heartworms, the monthly preventive treatments can be administered.

Early Symptoms

There are several warning signs that your dog may have contracted canine heartworms. Contacting your vet about any of the following symptoms as soon as they are noticed could save your dogs life.

Unusual tiredness that can not be explained

Frequent coughing that is unusual

Hunting dogs that often fall behind or drop out completely from tiredness

Unusual panting for no apparent reason

Rare symptoms include jaundice, complications with vision, and convulsions

Sudden, unexplained weight loss is a symptom that often occurs shortly before the dog dies from canine heartworms

What Breeds are Affected by Canine Heart Worms?

It was once believed that short-haired breeds were more easily infected by heartworms. The reasoning behind this was because the parasite bearing mosquitoes that infect the dog have a very hard time biting a long-haired dog through the extra hair.

It was later discovered that mosquitoes actually bite canines in the stomach area where the hair is fine. With this knowledge, it is now known that all types of dogs are susceptible to the canine heartworm disease. It is also common for dogs to suffer from mosquito bites on their ears or their mouth and nose because these areas typically have little hair as well.

How Are Canine Heart Worms Treated?

When a canine heartworm infection is noticed early, a series of chemical treatments can be used to treat the disease. These treatments are administered over an extended period so the worms are killed slowly, rather than all at once. The dead heartworms remain in the dogs body and usually take several weeks to be absorbed. Too many of these carcasses can create serious, often deadly, complications. Any type of chemical therapy can be dangerous to your dog as well if it is not handled by a professionally licensed veterinarian. Always allow your vet to perform these procedures and follow his instructions closely.

Surgery is sometimes a practical remedy for a dog infected with canine heartworms. Talk with your vet about the various options available for curing your dog and decide on the one you are most comfortable with.

Canine Heart Worm Recovery and Prevention

After a chemical heartworm treatment, it is very important for your dog to take it easy and not become overexerted. Too much activity can cause the dead heartworms to fall into the lungs, resulting in breathing difficulties and most often death. Keep your dog comfortable and relaxed for several weeks to allow the dead worms to be absorbed.

It was once recommended that dogs recovering from canine heartworm infections be given aspirin to speed the healing process and lessen damage to the heart. The American Heartworm Society now urges dog owners to refrain from using aspirin during recovery. It could cause adverse reactions to the chemicals and there is no proven medical evidence of the benefits of aspirin for heartworm recovery.

Canine heartworm prevention medications are a great way to protect your dog from heartworms. These treatments dont stop the infection.

Rather, the drug produces a chemical that affects the heartworm parasite early, preventing the worms from becoming adults and killing them before they infect the heart. Heartworm prevention treatments are over 99 percent effective when used correctly. Most of the cases of failure were due to irregular usage.

Treatments that prevent canine heartworms are given each month during mosquito season, beginning as soon as mosquitoes start to appear. The treatments should be continued until a month after mosquito season is over for the best results. Dogs living in warm, moist climates, especially near the Gulf Coast or tropical areas, should be given the treatments year round because mosquitoes are common in every season.

These preventive canine heartworm medications can cause severe, often fatal, complications if your dog is already infected with the parasite. For this reason, it is very important for your dogs safety that you consult with a veterinarian before starting any sort of heartworm treatments. Regular blood tests, along with an appropriate preventive treatment, can protect your dog from the dangers posed by canine heartworms.

Your veterinarian can provide the most assistance in keeping your dog free of heartworms. It is often hard to notice the symptoms of canine heartworm infection until it has caused serious problems. Scheduling regular blood work for your dog can help you catch these parasites before it is too late. Ask your vet about the best type of heartworm prevention treatments for your dog as well.

A final point to remember if you want to prevent canine heartworms from plaguing your dog is to do your best to protect him from the heartworm parasite carriers, mosquitoes. It is especially important to take precautionary measures during warm seasons when mosquitoes are prevalent and in areas with a large number of mosquitoes.

Canine heartworms are often difficult to detect, especially in the early stages, so even though your dog appears healthy and sound, he could still be infected. Have your dog checked regularly by your vet.

The American Eskimo Dog

The American Eskimo Dog is loving, alert, beautiful, agile, highly intelligent, friendly, social, curious and strong. She makes an excellent protective watch dog but is not threatening or aggressive. It has a white or cream straight outer coat, with dense undercoat. There is a lion appearance as the coat is longer and thicker around the chest and neck. It has a thick tail carried on the back. Blue eyes in this breed is considered a defect and a problem of ill health or bad breeding.

She will do well in an apartment as long as she can get frequent long walks. A properly fenced yard is always preferable. She was bred to be a family dog and they need plenty of family attention. She is excellent with children. Of course, never leave very young children alone with any dog for any length of time, long or short, without adult supervision.

The American Eskimo Dog is often called a Spitz in America. The Spitz refers to a group of breeds, not an individual breed. He is also nicknamed the Spitz, which again is not a breed but a group of breeds including the Pomeranian, Samoyed, Shiba Inu, Siberian Husky and Finnish Spitz.

Approximate Adult Size

There are three sizes of the American Eskimo Dog, Toy, Miniature and Standard. The Toy runs from 9 to 12 inches to the withers (tallest point of the back), the Miniature runs 12 to 15 inches to the withers and the Standard runs 15 inches to19 inches to the withers.

Special Health Considerations

The American Eskimo Dog, like many large dogs, are prone to hip dysplasia, flea allergies, hot spots, cataracts, epilepsy, patellar luxation, and Legg-Calve-Perthes Disease. They have no tolerance for fleas and can develop severe flea allergies which can result in painful skin lesions. Their skin is naturally dry so they should not be bathed more than one every two or three months. All dogs should have their teeth brushed once a week.

Grooming

The thick coat is easy to groom, brush twice a week with firm bristle. They are a medium shedder, one in May or June and then again in November and December. Many owners use an undercoat rake to groom which is available online or at better stocked pet stores.

Life Span

They can live 12 to 14 years with proper nutrition and care, although there are cases of 20 year life spans.

History

The American Eskimo Dog derives from the ancient Spitz family. Hailing from the coastal regions Germany, these dogs were traded throughout Europe. This family dogs probably came to America with German immigrants. They were used as family pets, watch dogs and circus animals. Circuses would sell puppies after performances and this the breed was spread throughout the US. They became popular during the 1930s and 1940s. They are known as the German Spitz in Germany. They were renamed during World War I to remove their national origin since we were at war with Germany. They were recognized as a breed in 1913.

Mastiff Puppy And Dog Information

The Mastiff was bred to be a dog that participated in war. They are gentle giants but do not get them aroused. They make natural guard dogs and watch dogs and will protect the family with their life. Actually, just seeing a Mastiff will deter everyone but the dumbest crook. They do not need a great deal of exercise and can be lazy. Even though they do not tend to roam they should be controlled at all times in public. They can do well with other dogs if they have been extensively socialized when very young. They love older, considerate children. As a reminder, never leave a child unsupervised with a puppy or dog.

Approximate Adult Size

The approximate adult size (two years old or older) of the Mastiff is 27 to 31 inches to the withers (highest point of the shoulder) and 150 to 190 pounds.

Special Health Considerations

Most dog breeds have certain inherited health problems associated with that specific breed and the Mastiff is no exception. Be on the look out for Canine Hip Dysplasia (genetic based looseness in the hip joint that can lead to arthritis pain and lameness), eye disease and bloat (Gastric Dilation-Volvulus, the second leading killer of dogs, can kill within the hour, this space is too limited for a complete explanation but you should read up on this). Feeding more then once a day and avoiding exercise right after meals may help guard against bloat. This disease list is an informative guideline only. Other diseases may also be significant threats, please contact your veterinarian for a complete list.

She should visit the veterinarian several times in the first year for shots, boosters and check up. Then, as an adult, she should visit the veterinarian yearly for shots and check up. As she gets older, six years and on, she should visit the veterinarian twice a year for check ups and shots. Remember; avoid feeding your dog sweets.

Grooming

The Mastiff has a short haired, smooth coat. She should be brushed regularly. Brushing will help her maintain a clean and healthy coat and help you keep a closer eye on her health and strengthen your emotional bond with her.

Her teeth should be brushed at least twice a week with toothpaste and toothbrush designed for dogs. Brushing removes the accumulation of plaque and tartar which can cause cavities (rarely) and periodontal disease. Dog periodontal disease can lead to pain, loss of teeth, bad breath and other serious disease.

Her toenails may need to be examined for growth and clipped regularly. The toenails of the rear feet grow slower than the toenails of the front feet. Generally a guillotine type trimmer is the best for this chore and competent instructions to accomplish this can be found on the net.

Life Span

The Mastiff can live between 5 and 10 years with proper nutrition, medical care and excellent living conditions.

History

The Mastiff comes from Great Britain where they were once used as hunting and war dogs. They have a history going back over 4000 years. They were first registered by the American Kennel Association in 1885.

The Gopher Tortoise - Nature's Landlord

Where exactly do you get a title at? The Lion is the King of the Jungle right? How cool is that? If I had one it probably would not be so flattering, alright now keep the wise cracks to you self! Knowing my friends I can guarantee it would be less than flattering. This brings me to an animal that has been given a title with some authority. The Gopher Tortoise, Nature's Landlord or maybe the Landlord of the Sand hills, either way it's definitely better than the moniker that I would probably end up with. The Gopher Tortoise is an obligate burrower with very stout and strong limbs. Its' claws are wide and flat with small protective scales extending up the tortoises shovel like front legs.

Their burrows can be up to 40 feet long and 10 feet deep, descending at a 30 degree angle. The width of the burrow is usually the length of tortoise, allowing for it to turn around in any section of the burrow. The male Gopher Tortoise can have an average of 17 burrows while the female maintains an average of 9, but it's common to have more than one tortoise sharing the same burrow. Fellow tortoises are not the only species that share the burrows, in fact not even close. The title Nature's Landlord comes from the fact up to 360 different animal species seek refuge in the tortoises burrow.

The list includes the gopher frog, the Florida mouse, opossum, indigo snake, pine snake, armadillo, burrowing owl, gopher cricket, scarab beetles, the Florida Scrub-jay and many others. The Gopher Tortoise is cold blooded averaging 10 inches long and up to 9lbs, its' life span ranges from 40- 60 years but in captivity can live more than 100 years. This particular tortoise belongs to a group of land tortoises that originated in North America nearly 60 million years ago and out of the nearly 23 species known to have existed on this continent as little as 4 species remain today. Once a year the female tortoise will lay an average of 6 eggs depending on their body size and it takes approximately 100 days for the eggs to incubate.

The gopher tortoises have temperature dependent sex determination, if the temperature of the sand is above 30 degrees the hatchlings will be female and below 30 degrees they will be male. The male tortoise has a concaved plastron (bottom shell) with a protruding plastron under the tortoises chin while the female's bottom shell is perfectly flat.

When the tortoises head and neck are completely retracted into the shell, the tortoise is generally safe from most predators. Although the tortoise has some natural threats like disease and climate, humans are the main cause for the decline of this species. In a list ranging from road mortalities to habitat destruction human interaction has played a major role in bringing this gentle herbivore closer to extinction. Florida has the gopher tortoise present in all 67 counties which has it on the list as a species of special concern.

Other states like Georgia, Louisiana. And Alabama have them listed as a threatened species but South Carolina and Mississippi have the tortoise on the endangered species list. The Gopher tortoise is an important part of the ecosystem and some of the species that share its burrows could not exist without them. Raising awareness and enforcing the protective laws is the only hope to keep Nature's Landlord from being evicted

Tips for Selecting Snowboard or Ski Goggles

The earliest use of snow goggles starts with the Inuit people who lived in the coastal regions of what are now Siberia, Greenland, and Alaska. Archeologists have uncovered prehistoric sites thousands of years old with snow goggles in them. The Inuit version of the snow goggle was a carved piece of bone, shell or driftwood, with horizontal slits for eye holes about an inch and half wide. The goggles were held in place by sinew, and were used to cut down on sun's glare and ultraviolet rays, thus preventing snow blindness (snow blindness is in effect a sunburn in your eyes, and is an painful as it sounds. In extreme cases it can cause blindness).

Thousands of years later, one of the primary functions of ski goggles remains the same: protection from ultraviolet rays of the sun. All but the most inexpensive ski goggles provide ultraviolet protection; do not purchase a pair that does not offer this most basic function. According to the American National Standards Institute, look for a lens that blocks the two components of UV radiation - UVB and UVA - by 99 percent and 95 percent, respectively. In addition to protection of your eyes from UV rays, goggles also serve as a physical barrier keeping snow, wind, ice, rocks and flying debris from your eyes. Keep the following tips in mind as you shop for ski goggles:

Be sure to choose a pair of ski or snowboard goggles that have good peripheral vision- when traveling at a high rate of speed it's important to be able to identify hazards quickly. Those hazards can be natural- such as uneven terrain, rocks or trees, or even your fellow snow boarding or skiing enthusiasts.

Fit- You are going to be on the slopes for hours at a time, make sure to try on several pairs of snowboard goggles to get a comfortable fit. If you wear a helmet, be sure to try the goggles with it before you hit slopes -- there's nothing worse than constantly having to adjust your equipment, or worse yet discovering you can't wear those expensive snowboarding goggles at all.

Anti-Fog - Look for a ski goggle with anti-fogging technology built in. There are several approaches- a double layer lens, chemical treatments of the lens during manufacturing, and finally as a last resort, you can pick up an anti-fogging spray or wipe at the store.

Match your lens color to the conditions you'll be skiing or snowboarding in. In low light or overcast conditions, yellow or rose snowboard goggles will provide better contrast, and you'll be able to see more.

If you're going to be out on the slopes at night, wear clear goggles. Finally, with bright conditions, use a darker tint (purple, green, etc.) to reduce eye strain. Some newer ski goggles have interchangeable lenses, which allow you to select the correct lens color for the current conditions. Finally, Uvex has come up with an interesting approach to having the correct lens at hand. Using a battery powered liquid crystal technology you can switch from high contrast (for flat light) to a darker lens for bright conditions by simply pressing a button.

Ski goggles have come a long way in technology, and comfort, but their basic purpose- protecting your irreplaceable vision, remains the same.

Pets, A Part of the Family

When pets are treated as part of the family, the benefits you get from them are incredible. What you put into them, you really do get back 100 fold. On the other hand, animals who are not involved as part of the family are a burden. They are difficult and are not a joy to have around. They are life stealers rather than life enrichers. People make themselves miserable with unappreciated, undisciplined animals when instead with a little time investment, pets can seriously enrich your life. It is well worth the effort to teach them and include them as part of the family. If you can't or won't do that, then don't have them because you and they will both be miserable.

Talk to your pets, teach them the rules, show them respect, they deserve it and will respond positively. My animals have always been fantastic and I attribute it to the love, involvement, attention, respect and love that I show them. The animals understand and want to please you. They show you oodles of love. They want to know what you want from them, they're pleasers. They love you unconditionally, but do not abuse the unconditional love. Animals have needs that go far beyond the basics of food, water and shelter. Under the law if you're providing just those basics, maybe the law says you're doing what's right but you're not. Animals respond wildly to the attention and love I'm talking about. Try it for yourself and see...

Here are some suggestions for including your pets as a part of the family:

1) Talk to them--you would be amazed by what they understand

2) When you've been gone, greet them excitedly--animals have no concept of time and if you are gone five min or five hours, they can't tell the difference.

3) Let them know the rules..they want to know what the rules are. You don't do them any service by not disciplining them.

4) I highly recommend kennel training dogs so that they have a safe, comfortable place to be when you are gone. I have had dogs who were kennel trained and dogs you weren't and I have to say that I would never have a dog that wasn't kennel trained again. They like the safety of the kennel and even if they are house trained, if you are gone for many hours or they don't feel well, then having them confined to a kennel really saves your sanity.

How Google Can Conduct A Real-Life Reverse Cell Phone Lookup

If you are trying conduct a reverse phone lookup, the best place to start is Google. All you need to do is type in the number using quotation marks at the beginning and well as the end of the number you are looking for.

Putting the number in quotation marks helps you to find the exact match and the results will show only those sites that contain the number that you have entered within quotation marks.

Once upon a time, the Phone Directory and the Yellow Pages were considered sacrosanct when it came to looking for phone numbers. Alphabetically indexed, you just opened the Phone Directory to the appropriate page and you looked for the phone number of the person you wanted to contact.

Using the Yellow Pages, you just looked under the relevant heading and you got a comprehensive listing of all the companies in the state that dabbled in that business along with their phone numbers and sometimes even their address. Simple, yet brilliant!

Enter the age of the internet and it has rendered the Phone Directory and the Yellow Pages all but obsolete. With the internet you have access to phone numbers and addresses of people and businesses not just in your neighborhood or your state but right across the world.

Not only that, if you are armed with only a phone number and nothing else, the internet even enables you to ferret out the name behind the number. You can even pinpoint the exact location of the person.

This opens up a world of possibilities. No more do you have to wonder what happened to close friends you've lost touch with over time. No more suffering silently through pestiferous blank calls and obscene calls and no more speculating about the background of prospective employees.

Identifying and locating a person based on just the phone number is the simplest thing in the world. Much like you do any search on the internet, you just enter the phone number in any of the major search engines such as Google and in seconds the search results will provide you with the details you are looking for.
The process of identifying a person and locating them based on a phone number is called a reverse phone lookup.

One of the reasons why a reverse phone look up is possible over the internet is because people openly post their personal details including their phone number and address on to one or many social networking sites such as MySpace, Facebook and Orkut. When you enter the phone number in lieu of a search term, the search engine's spiders search through their database and if the requested number exists anywhere on the internet, it will show up in the search results.

On rare occasions it could happen that you may get more than one person that corresponds to the number. This is because another person may have had that number previously.

Why a reverse cellular phone lookup is not so easy
however, all this holds good only for getting information on landlines; these searches will not do you much good if you are trying to trace the person or an address behind a cell phone number.

You may get lucky if the person has posted their cell-phone on their blog or any of the social networking sites, but this is more an aberration than the norm.

One of the main reasons why reverse cell phone lookups are more difficult is because of stringent privacy laws, which make it illegal to publish cell phone numbers in any directory; whether offline or online, without the express authorization of the owner. Added to that is the very transient nature of cell phone number.

Hoever, for a fee that could range from $20 to $100, some records-brokers and actual "reverse cell phone lookup" companies will provide owner details on almost any cell phone number.

Ian Armstrong is a well-known publisher in the investigation industry.

Ian recommends using Reverse Cell Phone Look Up to conduct an actual reverse cellular lookup for as little as $14.95

The African Gold Krugerrand

In 1967, the government of South Africa minted the gold krugerrand to increase the marketing of South African gold. Although the krugerrand is considered as legal currency, it is seldom used for that purpose. Instead, it has become a favorite of coin collectors all over the world, known as "medal coins." This was the first coin to be valued at the monetary value of gold. For example, a U.S. silver dollar is worth exactly one dollar unless it is unusual in some way that makes it more valuable to collectors. The krugerrand was originally a one-ounce piece of 22 carat gold with no monetary value imprinted on it; its value is based upon the market value of gold that frequently fluctuates. Today krugerrands are made in a variety of weights, including half-ounce, quarter-ounce and one-tenth ounce. Since the krugerrand is considered to be a form of gold bullion, it was once illegal for American citizens to own them privately. But when the South African government declared them as legal tender, that prohibition ceased. Still, because of the practice of apartheid in South Africa, many Western countries made them illegal to import until South African political changes occurred in 1990-1994. An executive order to this effect was signed into law by President Ronald Reagan.

The krugerrand is easily identified by its picture of Paul Kruger on one side, a Boer resistance leader and four-term President of South Africa. On the other side is a picture of a springbok antelope, one of the national South African symbols. The words "South Africa" and the krugerrand's gold weight are printed on the coins both in English and Afrikaans.

Buying krugerrands is like investing in any other type of gold. For instance, if you invested in purchasing several krugerrands in the 1980's, the market value of gold was around $600 per ounce. When gold prices jumped in early 2008, gold ounces sold for around $1,000 per ounce. Your krugerrands, then, will fluctuate in value as gold does. Coin and gold dealers/owners must watch gold prices closely, and decide if it's time to sell their krugerrands or hold them, anticipating a higher price.

A word of caution: in the 1980's a silver so-called krugerrand was minted by an unknown source. On these coins, there is no mention of South Africa, and the name on one side of them is Stefans Johannes Kruger. The other side shows the springbok antelope and the words "one troy ounce fine silver." These are not actual krugerrands since this name is a legal trademark. Collectors are urged to refrain from buying these coins.

The South African krugerrand was the prototype model for other one-ounce coins like the Canadian Gold Maple Leaf, the Australian Nugget, and the United States Golden Eagle.

Ben Harmon has been collecting Krugerrands since his grandfather first gave him one when he was eight years old. You can read more about this fascinating coin at Gold Krugerrand Ferret, and you can even pick one up at the krugerrand auction

Organising Corporate Events With Maximum Appeal

One of the greatest challenges for the event organiser is to arrange a variety of activities that will appeal to everyone in the group. Obviously it is impossible to choose activities that will appeal to everyone, but it is important to have variety so that everyone will have something to enjoy.

The most common format for outdoor participation events is to have a range of activities. A group of thirty might be divided into five teams to attempt five different activities.

There is a general feeling that shooting and motorised activities are enjoyed more by men than by women. This is by no means a rule and there are always exceptions, but if an event is dominated by this sort of activity some people will enjoy it more than others.

Choosing the activities wisely will help; for example archery tends to be enjoyed by more people than clay pigeon shooting because some people find the noise and kick back of the shotgun too violent.

The best event companies will offer a wide range of activities and you can include ferret racing, duck herding and a whole assortment of activities which have a broad appeal. As well as the more physical participation activities you might consider including some puzzle based cerebral challenges; many prefer to think than to be active.

If you are very concerned about getting the choice right you can put all of the options down on a form and have the participants vote on which they would like to try.

The most important thing is to ensure that the organisers stresses that the event is run on a challenge by choice basis. If someone decides that they do not want to do something they will not be forced to participate or humiliated. This is the last thing that should happen on a team building day.

One of the most popular types of event is the Treasure Hunt. These are popular because they are not particularly physically demanding and do not obviously appeal to either sex more than the other. Challenges can be built into the format and events can be tailored to a clients particular needs.

Treasure Hunts can be run in more or less any location in town and country. London Treasure Hunts are extremely popular and professional organisers will know the best routes to ensure an interesting experience without teams spending hours in queues with the tourists.

There is a wide range of options available in the participation event industry. Organisers should consider the make up of their group and any special needs that people may have. Organisers should avoid simply choosing activities which appeal to their own preferences; working with a professional event company and taking their advice will ensure that an event with broad appeal is chosen.
